Open question

In addition to multiple-choice questions, the open question is also an option in LesLinq. The interactive format of the open question encourages critical thinking and deeper understanding, making learning both challenging and rewarding.

Creating an Open Question

To create an open question, go to the ‘Question Module’. Select ‘OPEN QUESTION’.

You will see the following screen:

By double-clicking on the top text box, you can edit the question. You can customize the font, font size, alignment, color, transparency, and shape of both the question and the answer field.

If you select the entire question and click on the gear icon, you will enter the settings for the entire question. Here, you can adjust the score, style, transparency, hints, bottom bar, position, and animation.

Once the question is answered, you’ll want the user to proceed to the next page. To do this, go to ‘Action’ and select ‘VIEW’. Then click on ‘+ ADD KEYFRAME’ and ‘+ ADD ACTION’.

Under ‘Action’, choose ‘Navigate To Page’, and under ‘Page:’, select ‘Next Page’. Finally, click ‘Confirm’.

Evaluating Open Questions with Keywords

When receiving answers, LesLinq also offers the option to evaluate the accuracy and relevance of each response based on predetermined keywords (answer keywords) that you input.

Example: 

• Question: What are some landmarks in Europe? 
• Keywords: Eiffel Tower, Colosseum, Acropolis

To achieve 100%, all keywords must be present in the answer. If one of the three keywords is mentioned, the score is 33%.

To enter the keywords, double-click on the answer field. In the top left, you’ll see ‘ANSWER KEYWORDS’. Here, you can type all the keywords. Make sure to separate the words with a space.
